How do you manage the purchase price variance in your work?

In my previous role, I started by reviewing purchase data, standard price, actual price, and variance bridge. I then worked with the responsible team to separate price, quantity, mix, exchange-rate, and timing effects. I documented the result, tracked any remaining risk, and followed up until the purchase price variance met the agreed requirement.
